Our net zero ambitions cannot be realised without a major overhaul of the transmission network. We have advised on a wide variety of transmission projects over several decades, covering everything from major system upgrade projects to interconnectors and offshore transmission.

We have a long history of working on transmission projects. We worked on our first interconnector in the 1990s, and have advised on the introduction of all major reforms to transmission arrangements in the UK since privatisation.

We count both regulators and industry participants (developers and tier 1 contractors) among our clients. Our market-leading team provides the full spectrum of planning, property, construction, commercial and regulatory advice on all forms of high-voltage projects, including onshore network upgrades, export cables from offshore wind and traditional interconnectors and offshore hybrid assets (formerly known as multi-purpose interconnectors).

Our expertise also extends to advising funders investing in offshore transmission assets. We have carried out diligence on OFTO assets and have advised on complex syndicated funding, banking and security packages.
