Iain Drummond

Iain is highly experienced in construction, engineering, major projects (including PFI/PPP) and negligence disputes across the UK. He also has experience in construction related public procurement challenges. He is a qualified and active solicitor-advocate. He has a large court, adjudication and mediation practice across the UK, and also has significant experience in arbitration and expert determination. Iain has been a Law Society accredited specialist in construction law since 2005. He was also on the Law Society’s specialist accreditation panel for professional negligence law for 10 years.

Iain has pursued and defended adjudication claims for clients across the UK since 1998, when the new adjudication regime started. Iain has also represented clients across the UK at mediation for more than 20 years . As a solicitor advocate, Iain has presented for clients in formal proceedings, including complex cases in the Court of Session, Scotland, and in arbitrations and expert determinations. Iain's work has including acting for clients on some high profile, high value and complex cases cases around the UK and some with an international element. These have covered a wide range of project types and sectors, such as major hospitals and care homes; schools; road tunnels, utility tunnels and bores; power infrastructure (on land and sub-sea); flood prevention schemes; commercial and industrial; hotel, retail and leisure schemes; residential and related infrastructure; transport schemes and related infrastructure; clean energy installations; defence and nuclear.
