The firm reported 7% turnover growth to £66.7 million in the year to 30 April 2023, the sixth year of consecutive growth. Net profits (before partner distributions) grew 3% to £27.1 million.

Despite the challenging economic environment, Shepherd and Wedderburn’s banking and finance team has reported a busy 12 months, supporting clients with a mix of strong deal volumes and advisory work. In the 12 months to 30 April 2023, the team advised clients including banks, funds, financial institutions, alternative lenders, public bodies, corporate borrowers and sponsors, on over 140 deals with a total value of more than £125 billion.

The aim of LGBT+ History Month 2023’s theme, ‘Behind the Lens’, is to shine a light on and celebrate the contribution of members of the LGBT+ Community to television, cinema and film. Throughout the month, members of Shepherd and Wedderburn’s LGBTA+ Focus Group will produce a series of articles highlighting an individual’s contributions, inspirations, and their links to the LGBT+ community, from ‘Behind the Lens’. Olivia Greener, trainee solicitor, has focused on another inspirational figure of the LGBT+ Community: award winning director, screenwriter and producer, Angela Robinson.
