  • How can government funding and guarantees de-risk early-stage projects, unlock private investment, and accelerate net-zero infrastructure?
  • Transmission networks, hydrogen hubs, ports, and CCUS clusters: what financing models are needed to deliver these essential projects efficiently and equitably?
  • How can regulation and targeted public support stimulate technological innovation and regional development without creating distortions or unfair advantages?
  • How to ensure energy systems remain secure, reliable, and cost-effective for consumers while supporting large-scale investment?
  • Ensuring that investment in infrastructure benefits multiple regions and supports local economic growth alongside net-zero objectives
  • Lessons from the market where public-private collaboration has successfully accelerated projects or de-risked investments

  • Onshore wind is a cornerstone of the UK government’s ambition to become a “clean energy superpower”
  • Following publication of the Onshore Wind Taskforce Strategy, do we now have the tools to deliver?

Reviewing the most profound structural transformations in the electricity market since privatisation this session will ask where we are now and what the future will bring when co-ordinating the changes energy system:

  • Grid Connection Reform: Assessing the first round of Gate 2 offers and what will the next rounds look like given the result and transition to the Strategic Spatial Energy Plan (SSEP)?
  • REMA & National Pricing: What does the shift to reformed National Pricing mean for investor certainty and wholesale market volatility in a post-REMA landscape?
  • Strategic siting and the SSEP: The challenges in delivering the ‘whole system’ plan for generation and demand in Great Britain – how joined up will the SSEP be with the key policy drivers, including CfD allocations and network price, control decisions?
  • TNUoS Reform:  Addressing the challenge in balancing the revenue requirements of grid transformation with the implementation of stable, cost-reflective signals. Will there be continuing uncertainty for generators?
