Olivia is a Solicitor in our Employment team. She advises small, medium, and large employers throughout the UK on the full range of employment law and HR issues.

These include corporate acquisitions/disposals, TUPE transfers, employment tribunal cases, and general advisory matters like performance and absence management, discipline and grievance, discrimination, family leave and pay, and redundancy. 

She is experienced in drafting and negotiating settlement agreements, and providing guidance on the employment aspects of M&A transactions. And she has also successfully defended clients in the Employment Tribunal.

  • Advising clients on Tribunal proceedings, working with and supporting witnesses, and successfully representing employer clients at the Employment Tribunal.
  • Part of the core team advising Universities and Higher Education establishments on a wide range of employment law and HR matters, including a delicate HR and employment law matter to defend a claim for declaration of permanency under FTC Regulations and potential claims of disability discrimination.
  • Part of core team advising a Scottish public sector employer on a breakdown between the Chief Executive, another senior employee and the Board Chair, requiring the temporary removal of all three from office, the co-ordination of two separate independent investigations, and the resultant disciplinary process; then successfully defending claims of unfair dismissal, whistle blowing detriment and sex discrimination brought before the Employment Tribunal.
  • Assisting clients in the offshore energy sector with a range of complex matters, including playing a key role in defending a claim for discrimination on behalf of an energy sector client.
  • Advising on the enforcement of restrictive covenants and confidentiality undertakings.
  • Advising clients on cross-border and international employment issues, in collaboration with contacts in the World Services Group.
  • Providing employment law input and TUPE advice on a range of high-value corporate transactions.
  • Negotiating exit agreements on behalf of senior employees and similarly advising employers on senior employee exits.
  • Providing advice to clients on the rights of agricultural workers.
  • Delivering in-person and online training to clients and contacts on the duty to make reasonable adjustments, undertaking investigations and disciplinary proceedings, and other employment law updates.
