Liz is a recognised energy and utilities specialist, focusing on large commercial deals and regulatory issues in the energy and water sectors. She is a key member of our Clean Energy team, and advises on projects – involving wind, solar, battery, hydrogen and many other technologies – from inception to commissioning.

- Advising a group of UK offshore wind developers with projects aiming to build out in order to deliver 2030 targets on aviation mitigation arrangements.
- Advising UK offshore wind developers on a range of offshore cooperation and co-existence agreements relating to the sharing of seabed with other users including both carbon capture and storage and oil and gas.
- Advising many onshore wind developers on civil and defence aviation mitigation arrangements with counterparties across the aviation sector.
- Advising on and offshore wind developers on wake loss and other commercial mitigation agreements.
- Providing specialist advice on grid agreements at transmission and distribution level and advising on all aspects of connections reforms.
- Advising several developers on the terms of the Contracts for Difference with Low Carbon Contracts Company (LCCC) and on their dealings with LCCC in relation to achievement of milestones and potential for delay relief.
- Advising a number of water retail companies on the regulatory framework that establishes retail competition in England and Wales, including advice on business separation, compliance with regulatory codes etc.
- Supporting developers in successfully raising disputes relating to grid agreements, various clean energy subsidies etc., and escalating them to Ofgem for resolution.
Liz is a regular speaker on issues such as transmission access and aviation mitigation. She also advises clients operating in the defence, logistics, waste and food and drink sectors on all types of major commercial agreements, including long-term and IT outsourcings, logistics, purchasing, sales and business process. Liz focuses on the deals that keep a business going and that are essential to ensuring that its products and services reach customers on the right terms. She has advised clients across the UK on large commercial transactions, including Chivas Brothers and BAE Systems.
