Katy is a Senior Associate in our Banking & Finance team. She acts for banks, funds, developers and corporates on a wide range of lending transactions across various sectors.
Katy's particular focus is on real estate finance, project and infrastructure finance, and corporate and commercial banking. She also often advises on the financing and security aspects of corporate finance and pensions matters. She has spent time on secondment with a major European energy company.
Dual-qualified in Scotland and England & Wales.
Real Estate Finance
- Advising the senior lender in relation to the funding of a UK PBSA portfolio for CA Ventures.
- Advising the lender in relation to the funding of an extension to the Hampton by Hilton, Edinburgh Airport.
- Advising the senior lender on its provision of a term facility secured against a portfolio of central London office space.
- Advising the lender in relation to the funding of a portfolio of student and hotel accommodation in Glasgow, Nottingham and Manchester.
Energy and Infrastructure Finance
- Advising Amber Green SPRUCE on the financing of a number of urban development and energy projects in central belt Scotland.
- Advising the senior lenders Nord/LB on the financing of several education and healthcare projects using the Scottish Government's hub model including Blairdardie and Carntyne Schools, Inverurie Community Campus, Jedburgh Intergenerational Community Campus, Gorbals and Woodside Health Centres and Greenock, Stobhill and Clydebank Health Centres.
- Advising Neart na Gaoithe Offshore Wind Limited in relation to the £2 billion project financing of the 950MW offshore Windfarm development in the Firth of Forth.
- Advising Pharos Energy on the refinancing of its reserve based lending facility.
- Advising the Scottish National Investment Bank on the financing elements of several clean energy transactions.
Corporate and Commercial Banking
- Advising HSBC on letter of credit facilities provided to Castle Water Limited.
- Advising Virgin Money (Clydesdale Bank) on loan facilities for Carr’s Group plc.
- Advising HSBC on loan facilities provided to ScotMid Cooperative.
- Advising Santander on loan facilities provided to the Rad hotel group for the acquisition of Seamill Hydro Hotel.
- Advising ScotiaBank on the Scots law aspects of facilities provided to NFI Group, the parent company of Alexander Dennis.
- Advising FanDuel (part of the Flutter Group) in relation to various financing transactions.
- Advising the lender in relation to facilities made available to Celsa Steel.
Other
- Advising various lenders and borrowers in relation to LIBOR transition.
- Advising various employers and pension scheme trustees in relation to pension scheme risk reduction measures including contingent asset arrangements and asset backed contributions.
- Acting for Assured Guaranty on a wrapped bond issue by a Glasgow City Council entity, backed by major council property assets including Kelvingrove Art Gallery and City Chambers.
- Advising the lenders in relation to the financing of a portfolio of FPSO units.
