Euan has extensive experience of advising clients on the procurement, construction and operation of complex energy, infrastructure, and engineering projects. He has advised on contracts across the energy sector, including in offshore and onshore wind, solar PV, battery storage, energy from waste, and heat and hydrogen. He also has significant experience of contracts for defence, healthcare, education and transport infrastructure.
Euan also advises clients on procurement matters, under both the Scottish procurement regime and under the Procurement Act 2023. During his career he has completed three secondments within the energy sector, and has also worked in the in-house legal team at a major UK utility where he advised on construction and procurement matters.
He is qualified in both Scotland and England & Wales.
Energy
- Advising offshore wind developers on various matters including creation of template contracts, support in connection with the Ports and Harbours, and on Pre-FEED procurements.
- Advising an offshore wind developer on the contract documentation for procurement of the transition pieces for its offshore wind farm, including a reservation agreement and negotiation of the main contract.
- Advising a service provider on a BIMCO Windtime contract for provision of services to an offshore wind farm project.
- Advising one of the largest renewables developers in the UK on various energy projects across the UK, including advising on:

- service and maintenance agreements for multiple sites across their operational portfolio
- turbine supply agreements and balance of plant/infrastructure contracts based on FIDIC for a number of onshore wind farms in the UK
- a battery storage contract, and service and maintenance agreement, for a BESS project
- a contestable works contract, and other contracts, for a shared gridline
- contractors for solar PV projects, including EPC, panel supply framework, powerblock framework and mounting structures framework agreements for projects across the UK.
- Advising the networks division of a major Scottish utility on various aspects of their infrastructure, construction and procurement matters across the UK transmission and distribution business.
- Advising a contractor on template contracts and negotiation of EPC and LTSA Contracts for battery storage projects in the UK.
Public Sector Procurement and Infrastructure
- Advising a local authority on a heat offtake agreement for its energy from waste project, and related contractor change mechanism.
- Advising a local authority on the pathfinder growth accelerator model project.
- Advising a local authority on the procurement of multiple regeneration projects for the delivery of mixed tenure housing across its local authority area.
- Advising a private sector bidder on its challenge to a local authority procurement process.
