Iain specialises in banking law, with a focus on acquisition and real estate finance. He works closely with clients on complex commercial lending structures and compliance strategies, delivering legal solutions that support robust risk frameworks and effective deal execution.

Iain has held senior legal roles both in-house and in private practice, including at a Magic Circle firm and as Vice President, Legal at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management. He has led on credit and structured debt initiatives, and contributed to the design of bespoke financial products for private and institutional clients.

He advises across the full spectrum of banking matters, including corporate and commercial lending, property finance, Islamic finance, debt capital markets, and securitisation. Over the past decade, Iain has advised on the majority of Scotland’s largest and most high-profile real estate finance transactions. He is recognised for his deep market insight and ability to manage legally and commercially complex deals with clarity, pragmatism, and precision.
