Sophie works in our Private Wealth and Tax team. She provides corporate advice to clients, particularly those with family-owned businesses or who use of corporate structures in their wealth and succession planning. 

She is highly experienced in a wide range of transactional matters, including private acquisitions and disposals of businesses and companies, joint ventures and the formation and management of private limited companies and LLPs; and in general corporate matters, on which she advises small, medium and large businesses over a broad range of sectors.  

She has a particular focus on corporate real estate, having acted for a number of real estate investors, asset managers and property funds in the acquisition and disposal of special purpose vehicles both on and offshore. She also has extensive experience of other corporate real estate matters, including joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions. 

Sophie has also advised on corporate structure and governance for local authorities in Scotland, in relation to their involvement in joint ventures and arm’s length external organisations.

  • Advising ARA Dunedin on its acquisition of London & Scottish Property Investments.
  • Advising Miller Homes Limited on its acquisition of Wallace Land and Investment Management Limited.
  • Acting for Invstec Bank plc in acquisitions and disposals by it of certain corporate real estate assets and interests.
  • Advising Wheatley Housing Group in relation to its interest in a joint venture, City Building (Glasgow) LLP with Glasgow City Council.
  • Acting for the sellers of family owned business, Capital Documents Solutions in its sale to Agilico.
  • Acting for TMC Pharma on the £18 million investment into the company by LDC.
