Lisa is an Associate in the contentious construction team. She has been involved in numerous high-value construction and infrastructure disputes.

She has experience of litigation in both the Court of Session and Sheriff Court, and is experienced in many forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution including adjudication, mediation and arbitration. Her clients include employers, contractors and consultants. Her construction disputes work covers many sectors including energy, transport, hospitality and leisure, education, and commercial real estate.

Lisa has also completed two secondments: one at a major utilities provider and one at a large social housing provider.

  • Successfully defending an employer client in ‘smash and grab’ payment adjudication.
  • Representing and advising a client on adjudication against an Authority in relation to a facilities management contract over schools in Northern Ireland.
  • Advising a client on potential payment dispute in relation to high voltage cable works at Hinkley Point C.
  • Advising a funder client on a multimillion-pound dispute in relation to defects with an office building, including with fire-stopping, glazing, water systems and access equipment.
  • Successfully enforcing an adjudication decision in the Technology and Construction Court for a client in relation to a dispute on the development of the former Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.
  • While seconded at a major utilities provider, doing both contentious and non-contentious construction work, including advising on and negotiating major contracts.   
  • Advising a university in relation to a high-value dispute involving both an adjudication and an arbitration relating to asbestos removal works.
  • Advising a hotels client on multiple adjudications with contractors relating to payment, delay and loss and expense.
  • Advising in relation to major defects dispute relating to upgrade works to a Scottish motorway.
  • Representing a local authority in adjudication relating to delays to a roads project.
  • Advising a major asset management company on a dispute with contractor over office development, and later dispute with administrators.
  • Advising an international company on issues with groundworks and crane procurement in relation to large distribution centre.
  • Advising a contractor on legacy firestopping claim in relation to works at a large mixed-use development in Glasgow.
