Craig has over a decade of experience working in the Real Estate Sector. He acts for a large range of volume housebuilders, landowners, housing associations, landlords and tenants.
He frequently advises large volume housebuilders on their site acquisitions in Scotland, including full title diligence and negotiating the contracts. He also deals with the subsequent site set-up, including the preparation of deeds of conditions, and drafting and negotiating disposals for utility providers.
He has particular experience in commercial and residential development, strategic land agreements, regeneration projects and leasing.
Development
- Numerous projects for Registered Social Landlords, including a number of site acquisitions across Glasgow, Edinburgh and the Central Belt.
Regeneration
- Acting on behalf of BAE Systems in the remediation, regeneration and subsequent land disposals of the former Royal Ordnance Factory at Bishopton, one of the largest brownfield regeneration projects in Europe.
- Acting on behalf of a Local Authority in relation to a regeneration and development project including inputting into the commercial units, drafting style Agreements for Lease, Leases, Licences and Renunciations for the development and completing thereafter for the commercial tenants.
Leasing
- Leading a team on the restructuring of the leases for a portfolio of over 30 commercial retail premises for a client in order to mitigate the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic.
- Acts for an outdoor clothing retailer in respect of their lease portfolio across Scotland, covering new leases, lease renewals, terminations and other management work.
Finance
- Provided real estate support on the corporate acquisition of a major UK housebuilder by a US based investment fund.
- Provided real estate diligence support on the corporate acquisition of a land promotion company by a major UK housebuilder.
