The team

We’re looking for a qualified lawyer to join our Smarter Working (innovation and legal technology) team.  This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our award-winning team, improving the service we deliver to our clients and driving the adoption of legal technology.

You will be able to demonstrate a keen interest in technology and innovation within legal practice and will have had previous experience in this area, either while working as a lawyer or as part of an innovation team.

You will be passionate about improving how legal work is carried out through understanding and improving processes and through smart, thoughtful use of technology.

The role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes a structured and organised approach to planning and delivering work, has a keen eye for detail and is comfortable working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

The role

Responsibilities

  • General
    • Work to promote Smarter Working across the firm, support the roll out and uptake of Smarter Working products and services and to generate ideas and project requests.
    • Undertake process reviews and lead on process improvement projects.
    • Encourage colleagues across the firm to adopt a mindset of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Applications and tools
    • Act as a subject matter expert on key legal tech tools to support operational use, advise on the use cases for those tools, and keep up to date with functionality updates.
    • Review and track usage data and feedback for legal tech tools.
    • Support the identification, piloting and roll out of AI and other legal tech tools and products, including coordinating pilot programmes, testing, project management, and change management
  • Management of legal innovation projects
    • Act as a liaison between internal contacts and Smarter Working on the team’s portfolio of projects.
    • Assist with scoping, defining, managing, and testing projects through to completion.
  • Training and Resources
    • Develop and deliver training on AI literacy, legal technology and related skills.
    • Develop and maintain resources to support digital literacy and effective use of legal tech tools.
