As Head of Technology, Steve is responsible for helping the firm get the most out of technology. Working firm-wide, Steve ensures existing technology is used to deliver maximum benefit, evaluates new technologies and their potential application, and manages technology-related knowledge sharing to ensure teams understand how to use technology to best effect and are effectively communicating our broad range of value-add solutions to clients.
He is co-head of our Smarter Working team which helps our clients and our lawyers address process improvement, efficiency and improve service delivery. He draws on expertise from across our business, bringing together experts in the fields of process, automation, technology, data and knowledge to further enhance the high quality service we deliver to our clients and to provide insights that deliver genuine benefit
Steve has led on a broad range of technology projects and implemented client-facing applications and solutions that support core internal process, such as implementation and rollout of client reporting apps, machine learning tools, and workflow tools to simplify and standardise processes.
Steve acts on domestic and multi-jurisdictional Corporate and Commercial Banking deals, bilateral and syndicated Property Finance transactions and subscription credit facilities for private equity and investment funds. He is one of the leading legal advisers in Scotland on Islamic Finance, having developed the account and mortgage documentation for Sharia’h-compliant banks active in Scotland.
