Scott Rodger

Scott is a senior competition and regulatory lawyer in our Regulation and Markets team. He advises clients on UK and EU competition law, subsidy control, economic regulation and public law – with a focus on the energy and water sectors. Before joining the firm, he worked in-house at Scottish Water, Scotland's public water utility, performing a variety of management and corporate policy roles.

Scott has advised across a full range of competition law matters, including merger control, cartel investigations, vertical agreements, litigations and behavioural advice. He also advises clients on subsidy control and foreign direct investment issues.

He has particular expertise on the regulatory framework in the electricity sector, covering networks regulation, renewables development and the retail and wholesale markets. He has advised on regulatory investigations across all of these sub-sectors.

Scott has also worked on a number of international in-country assignments for clients, including in Brussels and Athens.

Acting for SP Transmission Plc on its appeal to the CMA against Ofgem's RIIO-T2 price control determination.

Acting for the Single Electricity Market Committee on the Island of Ireland on a range of regulatory investigations and reforms in the wholesale electricity market and regulation of the Electricity Transmission System Operators.

Acting for a company in the food and drink sector on an EU Commission cartel investigation into price fixing activity in a related market.

Acting for the Water Industry Commission for Scotland on review and reform of the regulatory framework for the retail water sector in Scotland.

Acting for Scottish Sea Farms on UK and EU merger control for its acquisition of Greig Seafood Scotland, cleared at phase 1.

Acting for Epic Games Inc. on UK and EU merger control for its acquisition of Tonic Games, the makers of the hit video game Fall Guys.
