Emma Guthrie

Emma is a solicitor qualified in Scotland and is a partner in Shepherd and Wedderburn’s Real Estate and Infrastructure team.

She regularly represents landlords and tenants asset management transactions across all types of commercial property for many of the real estate department’s largest clients.

Emma advises on complex property law matters including:

  • large scale acquisitions and sales;
  • property refinancings:
  • cross-border and cross-sector transactions. 

Emma is an active member of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Groups ‘S+W Pride’ and the Gender Focus Group, and was elected as co-chair of the Real Estate Balance NextGen committee in 2023.

She is also a keen supporter of the work of the firm’s Social Mobility Group with experience mentoring students through a University of Edinburgh mentoring programme and PRIME (which works to improve access to and socio-economic diversity within the legal profession).

Emma takes a central role in the training and development of trainee lawyers and summer students within her department.
