Higher Education
We advise universities and other higher education bodies on student and staff sponsor licences and other immigration issues.
Student sponsor licence-holders are audited from time to time. Failure can result in them being placed on a three-month action plan to fix problems or, at worst, having their licence immediately revoked and losing the ability to sponsor international students.
We can work closely with your staff sponsorship teams, advising on compliance measures and making sure that you are aware of any changes in Home Office policy so that you can adapt appropriately. We advise on matters such as tackling non-enrolment of sponsored students, evidencing permission to study, and issues around monitoring attendance and engagement.
We also conduct regular on-site audits of universities’ student sponsorship records, procedures and key personnel. By identifying any weaknesses early, we ensure that strong compliance performance is maintained.
And if an audit has been failed, we can work with senior stakeholders across the organisation to ensure that all the necessary changes are made to bring it back into alignment with Home Office governance and compliance requirements.
