Dispute resolution Solicitors

Dispute Resolution
Because the lawyers in our UK-wide team have specialist knowledge of and committed focus on our clients’ business and their sectors, we are able and determined to find practical and commercial solutions to difficult disputes.

“Respected… frequently instructed on high-profile matters by a loyal roster of clients.”

Chambers (2019)

The costs of a protracted dispute can be significant. Financially, and often – win or lose – in terms of reputation, senior management time, and damage to a previously successful commercial relationship. Our role is to find solutions that achieve clients’ objectives while minimising these costs.

Finding a solution starts with understanding the problem. That’s why our lawyers specialise in particular sectors, giving them a real understanding of the wider commercial context. By combining this with legal expertise, practical experience, and a clear picture of your objectives, we can develop and help to lead a strategy, working closely with you to help achieve your goals.

Litigation is just one of the tools available. We have extensive resources in-house, including four Solicitor Advocates, and handle matters all around the UK and internationally. We also have exceptional experience of funded litigation, and have strong relationships with many funders and insurers, so we can help you to fully explore all the options.

However, we are also skilled in all the other ways of resolving disputes – including mediation, arbitration, adjudication and expert determination. And beyond formal proceedings, our specialist advice and guidance can enable you to negotiate a commercial resolution direct, for example with your continuing client.

We always aim to be part of your team, to work closely and cost-efficiently with you, and to communicate effectively. This enables us to build long-term relationships based on trust.

We have expertise in all areas of dispute resolution, including:
