Data Protection - Autumn 2022 update

Data protection continues to be a fast moving area of law with more and more countries looking to address the particular challenges of ensuring a balance between data use and protecting individual interests.  The UK government is currently rethinking its plans to reshape UK data protection laws having put the proposals of the previous Cabinet on hold. Worldwide the GDPR continues to dominate discussions in this area and in particular the issue of transferring personal data to other countries and we are seeing interesting developments in a number of countries, most notably in the US.
