Shepherd and Wedderburn sponsors PLSA Scotland 2015

Now in its third year, the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA) Scotland Conference takes place on 19 November at Edinburgh’s Dynamic Earth. UK law firm, Shepherd and Wedderburn, whose pensions team has extensive experience advising employers, trustees and financial institutions on all aspects of pensions and related trust law issues, is supporting this year’s event as headline sponsor.

Aimed at pensions managers, trustees and HR specialists, as well as finance directors, consultants and advisers, the conference addresses issues affecting pension schemes brought about by the game-changing pensions reforms of the last year. Topics explored include the new flexibilities, pensions tax changes, further devolution for Scotland and the market outlook for the future.

Edwin Mustard, Partner within Shepherd and Wedderburn’s top-ranked pensions team joins an impressive line-up of speakers to give a presentation on pension reforms over the last 25 years. Mustard will consider the future direction of reform, set in the context of greater freedom and choice for members. He commented: “Recent pensions reforms and the prospect of further reform to come make this a significant time for the UK pensions industry. I am looking forward to exchanging views with some of Scotland’s pensions experts at PLSA’s conference and discussing the outlook for 2016 and beyond.”
