Shepherd and Wedderburn advise on major first for UK offshore wind industry

Leading UK law firm, Shepherd and Wedderburn has supported Moray Offshore Renewables Limited (MORL – an EDPR and Repsol owned offshore wind developer) in obtaining the consents to build and operate three 372MW wind farms in the Outer Moray Firth.

The market leading energy team at Shepherd and Wedderburn has been working closely with MORL, The Scottish Government and Marine Scotland to deliver these consents.  Liz McRobb, energy partner at Shepherd and Wedderburn said: “This is a first on a number of fronts – a first consent for a large Round 3 offshore wind zone and a first for such a large commercial scale project in Scottish waters.  We are delighted to have had the chance to work closely with the team at MORL, with the Scottish Government and Marine Scotland to deliver these consents which are a key step that will support the development of a viable UK based offshore supply chain.”
