Scotland’s leading Islamic finance expert to speak at Global Forum

Officially hosted by the Scottish Government, and organised by Middle East Global Advisors (MEGA) in conjunction with the Islamic Finance Council UK, the event will bring together key stakeholders from the various areas of ethical finance industry to discuss untapped opportunities and spur convergence and collaboration.

Graham Burnside, a Consultant at leading UK law firm Shepherd and Wedderburn, which has the largest banking team in Scotland, joins a truly international line-up of 67 speakers. 

Regarded as the country’s leading expert in Islamic finance,  Graham has a formidable track record and considered somewhat of a pioneer in the field. Possibly best known for having structured and documented the first and only Shariah-compliant mortgage products operating under Scots law, he has also advised on the first fully Shariah compliant commercial real estate financing in Scotland. Graham is an Advisory Board Member of the Islamic Finance Council UK (IFC). He said:
