Of the 22 accolades awarded, law firm Shepherd and Wedderburn sponsored the Excellence in Alcoholic Drinks category. This prize went to Spencerfield Spirit Company, and George Frier, Head of Food and Drink at Shepherd and Wedderburn was on hand to make the presentation. He said:

" It's a great sector to be involved with – it is on a strong growth trajectory, and our clients see many opportunities to innovate and broaden their horizons whether through food technology, export initiatives, or creative branding. The continued interest in provenance and quality can only be good news for food and drink producers, and this was reflected in the range of entrants to last nights’ awards."

The awards are hosted by Scotland Food & Drink in partnership with the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS). The judging panel had the pleasure of tasting 115 food and drink products from the 154 entries it received.
