Peter Alderdice

Peter specialises in banking and finance and acts on a range of debt capital markets and securitisation deals involving Scottish assets and Scottish counterparties, including covered bond programmes, master trust securitisations and central bank repo facilities. He has extensive experience advising on loan book trading, warehouse funding, secured corporate bond issuances and securitisations backed by residential and commercial mortgages, consumer and auto loans, and other asset classes.

Peter acts on domestic and multi-jurisdictional corporate and commercial banking deals, bilateral and syndicated property finance transactions and subscription credit facilities for private equity and investment funds. He is one of the leading legal advisers in Scotland on Islamic finance, having developed the account and mortgage documentation for Sharia’h-compliant banks active in Scotland.

Peter's practice includes acting for financial institutions and banks in retail, wealth and consumer finance matters, including the preparation of product terms and conditions, drafting standard forms of regulated and unregulated lending documentation, conducting legal audits of home finance and consumer credit documentation, and developing invoice discounting systems. 

He is the author of a number of blogs and articles on current topics in financial products and services and provides legal advice, analysis and opinions on market systems, fiduciary services, financial products, conduct of business and other regulatory risk issues.
