Stewart is a Senior Associate in our real estate team. He specialises in acting for development, investors and funders of energy and infrastructure projects.
Stewart delivers strategic property advice to renewable developer clients of solar, wind and battery storage. He is experienced in securing the necessary property rights for renewables projects, through from initial land referencing all the way through to final investment decision and construction. He is also experienced in providing property support to compulsory purchase orders and in the provision of certificate of title to funders and equity investors. He has acted for landowners (including major institutional clients) on utilising their estate holdings for onshore wind development which gives him a well-rounded perspective on onshore wind projects. He also has experience of supporting all aspects of the voluntary registration process for major estate titles, including reviewing title.
Clients include ScottishPower Renewables and prior to joining Shepherd and Wedderburn he advised on renewable energy clients including SSE Renewables, Seagreen Winde Energy, Berwick Bank Wind Farm, together with other developer and investor clients.
