Advising on material aspects of the Great Britain/Republic of Ireland Gas Interconnector.
Bord Gais Networks
Advising on regulatory and commercial arrangements in respect of the UK to Ireland gas interconnectors. The interaction of the EU Third Package required Bord Gais to re-examine the separation of its transmission, generation and supply business and we carried out this review for its UK assets.
Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources (Ireland)
We were appointed by Frontier Economics to contribute to a detailed report and implementation plan on the options for implementing the transmission operator provisions in the EU Third Energy Package.
E.ON UK plc
Advising E.ON UK plc on property issues relating to creation of a substantial underground gas storage site in United Kingdom.
Advising on a range of regulatory matters such as transmission and interconnector charging and access arrangements.
Acted for ScottishPower in relation to the Moyle Interconnector, a 500 MW electricity interconnector between Scotland and Northern Ireland, including advising on contractual terms and conditions for the connection of the Northern Ireland and Scottish electricity transmission systems.
Transmission Projects
Advising on major infrastructure developments including significant transmission projects such as the upgrades of the transfer capability of the onshore transmission system between Scotland and England from 1600MW to 2200MW and to 4000MW.
Grid Connections
Advising on material grid connections.
Acted for ScottishPower on various aspects of BETTA, including the integration of the network codes across GB, the renegotiation of the connection of major users of the Northern Ireland Interconnector, the adoption of a modified transmission charging methodology for the GB system and the structural separation of Transmission Owner - System Operator (TO-SO) activities.
