Landlords will naturally look to recover as much of the cost of managing commercial premises as possible from Tenants under their Leases, but Tenants should be looking to ensure that costs claimed via the Service Charge provisions are kept to a minimum.
This seminar will look at how Service Charges are commonly dealt with in commercial leases, including the scope of services and costs that can be recovered through the Service Charge, and mechanics of apportioning and recovering charges. We will also look at issues that can often lead to disputes, and how to resolve them. The seminar will look at the position in Scotland, and England and Wales.
