The Bribery Act 2010 is one of the world's most robust pieces of anti-corruption legislation.  One year on from it coming into force, this webinar looks at various important aspects of the Act and the Minstry of Justice and Crown Office guidance which has been issued.  It considers both the consequences of failing to comply with the legislation and what you and your organisation can do to help avoid that.  Topics to be covered include:

A brief summary / refresher of the provisions of the Bribery Act and the potential consequences    of not complying with it.
The Adequate Procedures defence
Debarment from public procurement
Hospitality - what is and what is not acceptable
Self Reporting (including Crown Office guidance)

There has already been a successful prosecution under the Act and the individual convicted was sentenced to 4 years in jail.  With the Serious and Organised Crime Division within the Crown Office (and the Serious Fraud Office in England) keen to make their mark here it is anticipated many more prosecutions will follow.  Make sure you and your organisation are taking all the necessary precautions to avoid being in the dock.
