The draft Common European Sales Law (“CESL”) is aimed at increasing cross-border trade and providing consumers with more choice and protection. The CESL is envisaged to be an optional contract law procedure that businesses can use for cross-border trade. However, CESL is not intended as a substitute for Member States’ existing laws. SMEs make up around 99% of companies in the single market, yet only 9% of EU companies sell cross-border. This webinar will discuss CESL generally and the controversies surrounding it, as well as the impact it may have on your business.
The Webinar will run for no more than 30 minutes and will be presented by John MacKenzie and Joanna Boag-Thomson. John MacKenzie is a partner in the dispute resolution team. Joanna is a partner in Intellectual Property team in Glasgow and has followed the progress of CESL closely throughout its development.
If you are an in-house solicitor, a solicitor based in Europe, marketing director or interested in European law generally then this seminar will be of interest to you.
