Freedom of information legislation aims to promote openness and accountability among public authorities by providing a general right of access to members of the public to all types of recorded information held by public authorities. The laws do not acknowledge that some of the information held will have been given to the public authority by third parties. This webinar will examine the implications of freedom of information laws for those whose information is held by public authorities, what can and can't be done to protect such information and the effectiveness of any relevant confidentiality undertakings entered into by the public authority.
The Webinar will run for no more than 30 minutes and will be presented by David Reid. David Reid is an assistant in the intellectual property team who specialises in IP/IT and data protection matters.
If you are an in-house solicitor, work for a public authority or deal with Freedom of Information requests then this seminar will be of interest to you
