The Arbitration (Scotland) Act 2010 provides a modern statutory framework for domestic and international arbitration in Scotland, with the aim of providing a cost-effective and efficient method for resolving disputes. This webinar will review the key terms of the Act and consider its impact since coming into force in June 2010. We will also discuss the practical aspects of the arbitration process, and consider when it should be used in preference to other methods of dispute resolution.
The webinar will run for no more than 30 minutes and will be presented by John MacKenzie and Douglas Stewart. John MacKenzie is a partner in the dispute resolution team. Douglas specialises in construction and engineering disputes with a particular interest in alternative dispute resolution, having resolved disputes through negotiation, mediation, adjudication, arbitration and litigation.
This webinar will be of interest if you deal with commercial contracts, are an in-house solicitor or are interested in alternative dispute resolution generally.
