On Wednesday, American President, George W. Bush will be visiting the EU and holding talks with Austrian Chancellor, Wolfgang Schussel, Austia currently hold presidency of the EU, Commission President, Jose Manuel Barroso, and EU Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana.
The agenda will include talks on world trade and how to tackle Iran's nuclear enrichment programme.
However talks will be viewed with interest around the world because of other recent developments in Europe. In particularly the recent ruling by the European Court of Justice, that an airline data sharing scheme between the EU and US was illegal. The resolution adopted by the European Parliament last Tuesday, with an overwhelming majority, to call for the closure of Guantanamo Bay in the light of three recent prisoner suicides.
