A new website has been introduced by the European Competition Network (the ECN).  The ECN was established as part of the modernisation of enforcement of EU competition law which meant that from May 2004, national competition authorities such as the OFT have taken over the bulk of the task of enforcing EU competition law, leaving the Commission to concentrate on the most serious infringements.  All the competition regulators in the EU are members of the ECN which is intended to act as a channel for cooperation and information exchange to facilitate the harmonised application of Articles 81 and 82.  On the website you can find information about enforcement action in the 25 member states and documents such as annual reports and press releases.  The website can be accessed via the European Commission homepage and should be useful for undertakings and legal practitioners involved in competition law issues with a cross-border dimension.
