The Office of Government Commerce ("OGC") has issued new standard terms for government IT procurement.

The OGC has published two new sets of standard IT contract terms in response
to concerns over the difficulty of winning public sector contracts
due to the paperwork and bureaucratic obstacles involved.

The new contracts, one for the procurement of IT goods and
supplies, and one for the procurement of IT services, are intended
to simplify the tendering process.

The new documents follow criticism by
the Better Regulation Task Force who found that small and medium
sized enterprises faced a number of barriers when trying to
compete for government contracts.
