Labour MP, Cathy Atherton, for Falmouth and Cambourne in Cornwall has recently
given evidence at an employment tribunal in relation to claim brought by her
former aide, Paul Phillips under the Sexual Orientation Discrimination legislation.
Mr Phillips claims Ms Atherton sent him to "dig up dirt" on whether
gay Conservative opponent Ashley Crossley frequented gay bars in Soho in what
was described as a "research project". He later resigned from his
job and brought discrimination proceedings. Ms Atherton denied giving this
instruction, claiming she was "really shocked" by the allegation.
