Consultation on Trans-national Research Co-operation
The European Commission launched a public consultation on possible actions to improve trans-national research cooperation and knowledge transfer between public research organisations (PRO) and industry.

Casinos and the Use Classes Order
This consultation seeks views on the classification of casinos within the Use Classes Orders and particularly on Scottish Ministers' preferred option of removing casinos from the classes in the Use Classes Orders. This would mean changes of use to a casino would require planning permission, but changes from a casino to another assembly and leisure use i.e. cinema or bingo hall would be granted permission by permitted development rights.

Supporting wave and tidal energy in Scotland
This consultation is on the best way to increase green energy generation from wave and tidal sources in Scotland. This follows a commitment by Scottish Ministers to amend the Renewables Obligation (Scotland) to boost development of the renewables sector.

Implementation of Articles 7, 8 and 9 of the EU Directive on Energy Performance of Buildings
The Scottish Ministers are presently considering proposals for implementing Articles 7, 8 and 9 of the EU Directive (2002/91/EC) on the energy performance of buildings by using the Building (Scotland) Act 2003 and amending both the Building (Scotland) Regulations 2004 and the Building (Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 2004.

Amendment to the dispute resolutions procedures – Employment Act 2002
The Government proposes to make a minor amendment to the Employment Act 2002 concerning the duty on employers and employees to follow the dispute resolution procedures. Failure by either party to follow these procedures will affect the way in which the Employment Tribunal considers claims.

This Green Paper is a key component of the Transparency Initiative and is the starting-point for this consultation. The consultation will allow stakeholders to have their say on three aspects of transparency in the European Union which are lobbying, minimum standards for consultation and mandatory disclosure of information. These are covered by the three chapters of the Green Paper.

This consultation sets out options aimed at increasing the quality and quantity of worker involvement in health and safety risk management by voluntary initiatives or by strengthening the legal requirements for consultation with employees.

Increased holiday entitlement – an initial consultation
Under the Working Time Regulations 1998, staff are entitled to four weeks' paid holiday each year. The Government proposes to increase that entitlement to 5.6 weeks, pro rata for part-timers. The statutory right to paid holiday will be subject to a maximum of 28 days' paid leave per year.
