Our commercial disputes resolution team is one of the largest and most established litigation teams in Scotland, specialising in high value, complex commercial litigation and dispute resolution, known for its astute commercial advice and speed of response, which sets us apart from our competitors.
We have three Solicitor Advocates, who appear regularly in the Court of Session.
Cross-Border
When Scots law and/or jurisdiction applies to a dispute involving your client, you will want fast, reliable, cost-effective advice, and we have a track record of providing that. We support our referral partners in a flexible way, allowing them to decide if they need:
- ad hoc advice on Scots law and/or court procedure;
- a local agent to raise court proceedings, while our referrer maintains the client contact; or
- a Scots law advisor to act directly for their client in a Scottish matter.
We understand the demands placed on our referral partners and, for that reason, are set up to deliver the high quality service expected of a City of London law firm.
We are regularly instructed to:
- freeze Scottish assets on a protective basis;
- enforce foreign judgements against Scottish assets;
- raise proceedings in Scotland which mirror lead proceedings in other jurisdictions;
- act in relation to dawn raids taking place at Scottish premises, where the lead investigation is in England; and
- raise or defend a Scottish claim.

Our commercial disputes resolution team has market-leading expertise in a number of specialist areas and draws on specialists from across our business including:
- corporate disputes (shareholder / director claims);
- contractual disputes;
- warranty claims;

- pensions disputes;
