Since 2019, the Scottish Government has been consulting on the need to introduce a system of licensing for short term letting. Most recently, it has closed a Consultation regarding the possible licensing scheme and planning control areas in Scotland, which invited comments on proposals for the regulation of short-term lets. The Scottish Government is aiming to lay secondary legislation by December 2020, and with the new licensing scheme in place for Spring 2021.
This webinar provides clients with an overview of the proposed scheme, how the proposed scheme might impact on rural property, and what steps may need to be taken for future compliance.
